The scheme was launched on the #BhaiDhooj2019 in line with the promise by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the #IndependencyDay2019.

Under this free ride scheme, women will be given pink tickets to travel in Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses.

“Free-ride for women in Delhi buses has started from today. Congratulations Delhi! Apart from women safety, it will also increase the role of women in Delhi economy…,” reads a translated tweet by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

And, the transporters will be reimbursed on the basis of pink tickets they have issued.
