Coronavirus threat is spreading fast in India with the rise in community-level transmission.
The Covid-19 panic reached next level after the incidents reported from Nizamuddin’s Tablighi Jamaat.
The attendees of the religious gathering have moved to different states, even to remote parts of the country, in thousands of numbers taking the panic to the next level.
With this widespread, the total coronavirus positive cases in the country has reached 1,637 with death toll touching 38.
Various state governments have alerted their respective authorities to trace the whereabouts of the gathering attendees.
In response to the growing concerns, the Prime Minister is likely to hold a video conference with CMs of all states on April 02, 2020.
As part of the meet, high-level officials including Home Ministers, Chief Secretaries, Health and Home Secretaries of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Assam, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and MP have been directed to give their status updates in 3 mins each.
The Center has identified 10 COVID-19 hotspots across the country, two each in UP, Delhi, Kerala and Maharashtra, and one each in Gujarat and Rajasthan states.
Meanwhile, a latest research says the current social distancing guidelines issued by WHO and US CDC are not enough to control the spread of the virus.
According to the research, virus particles can travel up to 8 meters after a cough or sneeze.
