Continuing the growth trajectory, India’s COVID-19 positive cases have touched 42,670 as of May 04, 2020.

Now, the number of active cases has been reported as 29,489 and more than 11,700 people cured/discharged.

The country saw around 72 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the overall toll to 1,395 till date.

With the end of Lockdown 2.0 on May 03, 2020, the Center has called for further extension of the lockdown by categorizing the country into Red, Orange and Green Zones.

With some relaxations around, the third phase of lockdown will continue for another 13 days until May 17, 2020.

Bihar has categorized 38 districts of the state into red and orange zones.

Police across different states, especially Goa, are taking a different strategy to implement strict lockdown. They are using drones to track violators.

With the entire population staying at home, more people are preferring to make food specials, which are usually made in restaurants, at home.

This eventually boosted the sale of dairy products like paneer, butter, cream and others. Some large diaries have reported 50-100 percent rise in their sales.

In a move supporting travel migrant workers, the opposition Congress party has announced it will bear the rail travel expense of every needy worker.

“If government can bring back citizens stranded abroad free, why can’t it extend same courtesy and of free rail travel to migrants,” Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi asked the Center.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research has informed that it has tested 11,07,233 samples as on May 04, 2020.
