India’s Covid-19 outbreak is gradually transforming into a horrifying scenario.

After reaching the 1 lakh mark, coronavirus positive cases in the country didn’t take much time to come closer to the 2 lakh mark.

With more than 8,000 positive cases in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 positive cases have reached 199,343 and may touch 2 lakh any time soon.

As per the Covid-19 update, the country has 97,914 active cases, 5,610 fatalities, and 95,808 people have recovered so far.

With these numbers, India is now the seventh worst-hit nation due to coronavirus.

Maharashtra continues to report the worst situation than any other Indian state, with more than 70,000 positive cases and 2,362 deaths

Mumbai accounts for nearly 60 percent of the state’s total cases, with more than 41,000 positive cases and 1,319 deaths reported in the city so far.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (MBC), more cases due to more testing. As the officials say, more cases are being reported due to a rise in testing activity.

As the sources say, Covid-19 has claimed an average of 32 Mumbaikars per day in May 2020.

Tamil Nadu continues next in the list with 23,495 confirmed cases and 187 deaths.

Delhi, with 20,834 confirmed cases, is at the third position and 2,000 cases away from Tamil Nadu. However, deaths are more in the capital, with 523 fatalities reported so far.

Gujarat is in the fourth position, with 17,217 positive cases, where the deaths are at 1,063 more than Delhi

Meanwhile, the Center has extended the nation-wide lockdown to June 30, 2020, with maximum ease in restrictions. However, it continued to place significant cities under strict monitoring.
