With the highest single-day rise on May 10, 2020, the number of Covid-19 positive cases in India reached 67635.

Around 2,213 deaths were reported to date, and 21,119 patients recovered.

To everyone’s surprise, the country saw more than 4,000 positive cases on Sunday alone, with Maharashtra reporting 1,943 cases.

This shows a 6.9 percent rise in a single day!

Following the lines of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu (669 new cases), Gujarat (398) and Delhi (381), the eastern states of West Bengal, Odisha and Bihar together reported 321 new cases yesterday.

The deadly virus claimed 113 lives in a single day on May 10, 2020.

Maharashtra continues to be the top with 22,171 cases and 832 deaths so far. Mumbai is the worst-affected with 13,739 positive cases and 508 deaths.

According to the Health Ministry, India currently has 44,049 active COVID-19 cases.

In an update last week, the Ministry informed that they had increased the Covid-19 testing capacity to 95,000.

The Center has also sent special teams to individual states, including Gujarat, UP, Rajasthan, MP and Delhi to help the state governments in containing the outbreak.

COVID-19 Outbreak Globally

Globally, 4.1 million people tested positive for Coronavirus and 282,000 have died of the virus. 1.4 million have recovered so far.

The United States continues to be the worst hit with 13.3 lakh cases and around 79,000 deaths.

While the United Kingdom has 2.2 lakh positive cases with over 32,000 deaths. Spain has 2.24 lakhs and 26,621 deaths.
