Here is another alarming update on the COVID-19 spread in India!

The country registered its new biggest single-day rise in the last 24 hours, touching the 6,000 mark for the first time.

Around 6,008 positive cases and 148 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

With this, India’s COVID-19 reached 119,522 for positive cases, with 66,889 active cases and 3,600 deaths.

Maharashtra continues to be the most hit state, with 41,642 positive cases and 1,454 deaths.

Mumbai has the highest number of positive cases in the state at 25,500 and reported 882 deaths.

Tamil Nadu is next in the list with 13,967 cases, followed by Gujarat (12,910), Delhi (12,319), Rajasthan (6,377), MP (5,981) and UP (5,515), among others.

At 571, Delhi also reported its biggest single-day number in the last 24 hours. The region’s count totaled 1,605 in just three days. Surprisingly, Delhi has been witnessing the 500 mark every day for the last three consecutive days.

With the current numbers, India’s COVID-19 tally is ahead of two of the worst-hit nations, Italy (62,752) and Spain (54,768).

Globally, India is at the fourth place for the number of active cases, while the US continues at the top of the table.
