Coronavirus is spreading fast across India, while the government and public are on high alert following the self-isolation directives. 

With over 92 new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India reached 1,071 and over 29 deaths were reported to date. 

Maharashtra and Kerala continue to be the top states for COVID-19 cases, while Gujarat, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir reported fresh cases on March 29, 2020. 

As per the Health Ministry records, there are around 900 COVID-19 active cases in the country and over 100 patients have recovered so far.

In a concerning note, New Delhi saw 23 cases in a single day on March 29, 2020, taking the state’s overall COVID-19 cases to 53. 

State-wise, Kerala is the worst affected state with 194 cases and 1 death so far. 

Maharashtra stands next in the row with 193 cases. The state reported two fresh cases yesterday taking the overall death toll to 8. 

Gujarat reported 58 positive cases and 5 deaths. 

Meanwhile, UP saw 19 new cases yesterday alone taking the overall positive cases to 75. 

Karnataka has 80 COVID-19 positive cases so far, while Telangana has 69 cases. 

Tamil Nadu touched 50 cases. Rajasthan has reported 57 cases, while Madhya Pradesh and Haryana reported 39 cases each.

The number of cases in West Bengal rose to 19, while it is 38 in Punjab. 

Chandigarh reported 8 cases, while 7 were seen in Chhattisgarh, 5 in Goa, 3 each in Himachal Pradesh and Odisha, 11 in Bihar and 7 in Uttarakhand. 

Andaman and Nicobar islands have so far reported 9 COVID-19 positive cases. 

“There are rumors & media reports, claiming that the Government will extend the #Lockdown21 when it expires. The Cabinet Secretary has denied these reports, and stated that they are baseless,” PIB said in an official release. 

Across the world, Coronavirus has so far infected more than 7 lakh people claiming over 33,000 lives. 

The US reported the highest number of cases than any nation, with the number of infected is more than 1 lakh people and deaths being 2,400.
