IndianEra > Culture > Christmas 2020 – A Festival of Love and Caring!

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ on December 25. It is celebrated religiously by Christians and culturally by many non-Christians across the world.

In India, Christmas has a special significance as the country is known for its unity in diversity. The festival celebrations begin weeks ahead with the decoration of the Christmas tree and the purchase of gifts for loved ones.

People celebrate the festival by engaging in various special activities, including church services, open-air masses, caroling, nativity play, gift-giving, cake cutting, and delicious meals. It is the time for family get-togethers, home decorations, and Santa Clause – the man we all loved as kids.

All these beautiful traditions make Christmas a time to rejoice, love, and care as we welcome the new year.

However, Christmas 2020 will be quite different from the previous years due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With travel restrictions and social distancing norms in place, celebrations will likely be restricted to homes this year.

Merry Christmas

The shopping malls, restaurants, parks, and other public places will not have the same look as it always does during this time of year.

Many Indian states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan, have already banned mass gatherings and imposed travel restrictions during the festive week.

Let’s celebrate the Christmas party as safe and special as possible!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
