Diwali 2019 The Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is back again to shatter the darks of our lives!

Yes! Diwali 2019 is around! The world Hindu community is celebrating the festival on a grand scale across India and the world.

As per the Hindu tradition, Diwali is a five-day festival comprised of Dhanteras (Day-1), Naraka Chaturdasi (Day-2), Diwali (Day-3), Annakut (Day-4) and Bhai Buj (Day-5).

This Diwali is on October 27-28, 2019 with Day-1 Dhanteras or the ‘worship day of Dhanvantari’ falling on October 25, 2019, the 13th Lunar day of the Krishna Paksha or Dark Fortnight.

The Day-2 Narak Chaturdasi, a symbol of good’s win over evil, is the key celebration day where devotees lit crackers celebrating the victory of Goddess Satyabhama’s over Narakasur.

During Diwali, devotees lit Diyas as the symbol of ‘fighting darkness and spiritual enlightenment’.

Different parts of the country celebrate Diwali in their unique style, with Dhanvantari worship, Narak Chaturdasi and the worship of Goddess Lakshmi in common for all.

May the Diwali 2019 add more happiness to our lives!
