Through his Twitter handle, Megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela today informed that he was tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. This happened when he underwent a mandatory COVID-19 test before resuming the shoot of ‘Acharya.’

The former Union Minister is, however, asymptotic and quarantined himself at home.

Meanwhile, he requested all those who came in contact with him in the last five days to undergo a coronavirus test and take necessary precautions.

“Took a test for COVID before resuming ‘Acharya’ shoot as a protocol and unfortunately tested positive. I am currently asymptomatic and quarantining myself at home. Request all those who met me in the last five few days also to undergo Covid-19 tests. I Will update you on my recovery soon,” tweeted Chiranjeevi.

After the success of ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,’ the Tollywood actor has started the shoot of ‘Acharya,’ written and directed by Koratala Shiva.

However, in March, the movie shooting was halted as per the government protocols to curb coronavirus spread. Now, in a bid to resume the shooting, all the movie crew members are directed to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test. As Chiranjeevi tested positive, the film shoot is expected to delay further. However, no official announcement has been made so far.

Chiranjeevi Met Telangana CM KCR on Saturday!

On Saturday evening, K Chiranjeevi, along with senior actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, had met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragati Bhavan to discuss the resumption of the Telugu film industry hit by the pandemic.

During the meeting, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and the CM were seen together closely without wearing any masks. KCR’s nephew and Rajya Sabha member J Santosh was seen accompanying them as they were coming out of the meeting hall.

CM KCR approved to resume film shootings and open movie theatres by following all health precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
