Because, the versatile Bollywood actor known for his unique performance Irrfan Khan has passed away at 53.
The 53-year-old actor took his last breath at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after getting admitted for a colon infection.
The Piku star has been struggling with tumor for several months and has returned to India from London after a treatment.
Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heaven abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own. We all pray and hope that he is at peace,
Surprisingly four days ahead of Irrfan’s death, the actor’s 95-year-old mother also left this world. May be, she did not wish to witness this shocking incident of her son’s demise.
With the news of Irrfan’s demise, his fans including famous personalities took to social media sharing their deep condolences to their beloved family members.
#IrrfanKhan and #RIPIrfan, among other hashtags emerged as the top Twitter trends.
Piku Director and Irrfan’s friend Shoojit Sircar was the first to tweet about the actor’s death.
“My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,” Shoojit said in a tweet.
Irrfan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor in March 2018, after which he travelled to London for treatment. He finally came back in February 2019 for Angrezi Medium and flew back to treatment.
And, finally he returned to India in September 2019 after necessary treatment.
Lastly, he posted a tweet on a character from Angrezi Medium, where he said, “”Mr. Champak’s state of mind: Love from the inside, making sure to show it outside!”
That’s it! The world did not hear much about him later until today!

“Irfan Khan was a versatile actor. Sorry to hear about his demise. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. Om Shanti,” Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said in a statement.
“He etched every character in our memories with sheer talent. From the passion of Pan Singh Tomar to a floundering father in Angrezi Medium #IrrfanKhan was an actor to behold. How do you mourn his passing away for he breathes in the characters he left behind?” Union Minister Smriti Irani tweeted.
