The Government of India is strongly committed to the implementation of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and other leaders of the ruling BJP have made it very clear that they wont step back on CAA.
Continuing the pace, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Subramanya Swami, known for his sensational remarks, made some important revelations about CAA impact.
He said the AICC president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi will soon lose the Indian citizenship.
“The file is on the Home Minister Amit Shah’s table and soon they will lose their citizenship,” said Swamy at an event organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Swamy was speaking at the topic titled ‘CAA – a historical imperative beyond contemporary politics’ at the University of Hyderabad.
Speaking about it further, Swamy explained that any individual being another country’s citizen, while holding Indian citizenship, will naturally lose the Indian citizenship.
In this regard, he revealed that Rahul Gandhi has opted for British citizenship for starting a business in England.
While Rahul Gandhi can apply for another citizenship as the son of Rajiv Gandhi, he can’t do so with Sonia Gandhi’s data as she is not an Indian citizen.
He further explained that protestors of CAA lack understanding about the Act.
