After the initial Rs. 1.7 lakh crore relief package, the government is considering another financial booster to the suffering economy.
With the lockdown period due to end on April 14, 2020, the government is reportedly thinking of a booster package to support the post lockdown scenario.
While there is no official confirmation in this regard, this package aims to mitigate the impact of coronavirus and revive the economy.
However, the prime focus is on handling the issues post the lockdown, majorly the consumption activity.
If announced, this would be the third major government announcement in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak.
As the reports say, the officials are also thinking about plans of restructuring existing welfare schemes in line with the post lockdown scenario.
Student scholarships and fellowships, and rabi harvest are among other issues that the government has started prioritizing.
One of the 10 bureaucrat groups constituted by the PM, to fight COVID-19 impact, is working on planning economic measures alone.
Besides, a group of ministers headed by the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is also working on the post-lockdown scenario.
