Proceeding further with no lookback, the coronavirus outbreak has infected more than 23,000 people in India, as of April 24, 2020.

And, the virus has claimed a total of 718 lives, till date.

Amid the growing concerns, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the nation that they are moving ahead fighting obstacles to keep the country safe.

He praised the public stating they have been successful in handling the crisis situation by not succumbing to the challenges.

Because of these efforts, the whole world is talking about India’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, he added.

He further commended rural India for its support and discipline and said the village people have a crucial role in winning respect and recognition for the country, globally.

He further added that the broadband services have now reached to 1.25 lakh panchayats and the number of common service centers is also reaching beyond 3 lakhs.

“The most important lesson from the coronavirus is that we need to be self-dependent,” PM said in a statement.

On account of the ‘Panchayati Raj Diwas’ on April 24, 2020, PM interacted with Sarpanchs across the nation and also launched a special portal galled ‘e-Gram Swaraj’ and a mobile application.

Union Agriculture Minister is all set to hold a video conference with rural development ministers of all states in the latter part of the day.
