Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ Hits India, Bangladesh

Cyclone ‘Bulbul’

After cyclone Fani, another cyclone has hit Bangladesh and India, leaving millions displaced!

The new cyclone named ‘BulBul’, classified as a severe cyclone storm with 120 kmph speed, entered the two nations over the last weekend.

Beginning with Bangladesh on November 09, 2019, the storm made its way through floods to neighboring India’s Bengal region on November 10, 2019.

Claiming a total of 20 lives (12 in India and 8 in Bangladesh), the storm has reportedly displaced millions away from their homes.

According to Bangladeshi Minister Enamur Rahman, a total of 2.16 million people have been evacuated across the country and 20 were found dead.

More than 30,000 homes have suffered severe damage, and many have collapsed. “They are not strong structures so (were) vulnerable to damage,” the minister said in a statement.
