Taking ahead the Indo-US bilateral ties, the White House welcomed the new Indian ambassador to amid a grand ceremony on February 06, 2020.

Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been designated for the new post!

Singh is a foreign service official and served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at Indian Embassy in Washington for the 2013-17 period.

The new ambassador expressed his strong commitment towards taking ahead the US-India strategic partnership to the next level.

He also said Donald Trump and Narendra Modi’s vision played a very strategic role in driving India-US ties over the last three years.

Sandhu served various top positions at different levels in his long diplomatic career.

That began with being the 3rd political and 2nd commercial secretary at the Indian Mission in Soviet Union between 1990-92.

He later headed the political and administration wings of the Indian Embassy in Kiev during 1992-94.

After that, he was the Special Duty (Press Relations) under the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) during 1995-97 looking after liaisons with foreign media in India.

He also served as the Joint Secretary (Indian Ministry of External Affairs) at UN during 2009-11 and then was moved to the Consul General of India in Frankfurt during 2011-13.

Later on, he was the Deputy Chief of Mission at Indian Embassy in Washington for the 2013-17 period.
