India once again proved its supremacy in the world sports arena.

With 294 medals, the country is currently leading the medals table of the ongoing 13th South Asian Games.

India is ahead of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Bhutan in various 13th SAG sports events.

In a total of 27 sports played by around 662 athletes, India bagged 159 ‘gold’ medals, followed by 91 silver and 44 bronze.

Looking the stats of individual events, the country claimed 7 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze in swimming, and 4 gold in wrestling. Besides, it won one gold in handball and 3 in fencing.

In shuttle, the country won 8 medals in individual events including 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

India also claimed a gold each in men’s and women’s singles badminton event and the men’s doubles and mixed doubles events. It bagged two gold medals each in the men’s and women’s team events in badminton.

13th South Asian Games India Table Tennis

Table tennis was a special event for the country as it made a clean sweep with 7 gold and 5 silver medals, claiming the maximum medals on offer.

The 13th SAG has begun on December 01 and continues till December 10, 2019.

18 Medals in Shooting Alone

India Leads with Gold Medals

India claimed the maximum number of medals on the offer in Shooting. Out of the 20 gold medals, the country bagged 18. In total, the country claimed 29 medals out of 60 medals including gold, silver and bronze. Pakistan stood in the second position with 14 golds, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka won 10 and 7 silver and bronze medals, respectively.
