Here comes a proud moment for India!
The country claimed the ‘Mr. Universe’ bodybuilding title for the first time in its history, and its Chitharesh Natesan of Delhi who brought this great honor!
Natesan grabbed the Mr. Universe and Mr. World titles at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation championship held in South Korea, on November 17, 2019.
He first won the ‘Mr. World’ title in the 200-pound category and then moved on to contend winners in nine other weight categories (120-240 pounds) to finally grab the M. Universe title.
“I am extremely happy about my achievement. The fact that this is the first time this title comes to our country makes it even more special,” Natesan said in a statement.
Explaining his efforts, Natesan said he use to have 30-40 eggs, 1 Kg chicken and vegetables during six different times of a day, every day.
“For the last 10 years, I have been into bodybuilding,” says the ‘Mr. Universe 2019 in bodybuilding’, describing his journey from the time he was a hockey player.
“After winning the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship earlier this year, I went on to participate in the World Championship. I am very happy to bring gold for my country India,” he adds.
While a total of 38 countries participated in the championship, India alone claimed 23 medals including 6 gold, 13 silver and 4 bronze.
Kudos Mr. Natesan!
