With another massive win, the Team India whitewashed South Africa by 3-0 as the test series between the two ended on October 22, 2019.
This is a ‘historic win’ for India as the team, for the first time, made a clean-sweep against South Africa in a test series till date.
Though the South Africans had put some efforts in 1st innings of the 1st test, that did not help them in the series as they had to face one of their worst-ever defeats in the rest.
It did not take much time for Indian bowlers in the last day of the final test, as they closed the match in just 12 balls.
The South African team entered the pitch with 132/8 previous day score and couldn’t face the ire of Indian debutant Shahbaz Nadeem as they lasted only for 11 minutes of the day.
Overall, South Africans finished their 1st innings of the 3rd test with 162 runs and they had to stop much before that at 133 runs in the 2nd innings.
Shami and Yadav emerged as the highest wicket-takers in the 3rd Test, with 5 wickets each, in total.
This win is also #TeamIndia ‘s biggest victory margin in terms of innings vs South Africa in Tests.
With this win, Team India has also won all the five tests and repositioned itself at the top of the World Test Championship points table with 240 points.
