British internet market research and data analytics firm YouGov said the ex Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the second most admired men after PM Narendra Modi in India.
With this position, Dhoni defeated the likes of Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar in that specific category.
The company conducted a survey with around 42,000 people across 41 countries to finalize the list of most admired people in male and female categories.
In the men category, Modi secured the admiration rating of 15.66 percent, followed by Dhoni who got 8.58 percent. Team India captain Virat Kohli stood at 7th position with a rating of 4.46 percent but only next to Sachin Tendulkar who secured 5.81 percent rating.
While it was Modi in the men category, Mary Kom was the most admirable woman in India with 10.36 percent rating, followed by Kiran Bedi (9.46 percent), Lata Mangeshkar (9.23 percent), Sushma Swaraj (7.1 percent) and Deepika Padukone (6.35 per cent), among others.
Mary Kom was the only Indian woman who made it to top 25 list of most admired women in the world.
