Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire, finding every possible way to attack lives.

Globally, the pandemic, as called by WHO, has far claimed more than 4000 lives and infected more than a lakh people across 90 nations.

While there has been a lot of buzz around Coronavirus Outbreak, famous personalities were tested COVID-19 positive and a few are taking utmost care to avoid the spread, and various other world leaders at the government level are also being cautious, cancelling their scheduled meets and more.

Trump Greets Irish PM ‘Namaste’

The US President Donald Trump also prefers ‘Namaste’ to greet the visiting Irish PM Leo Varadkar. In a recent meeting on March 12, 2020, the two leaders greeted each other in the traditional Indian style. “We did not shake hands today. We looked at each other and said what we are going to do. You know, sort of a weird feeling,” Trump told the media.

American Filmmaker Tom Hanks Tested Corona Positive

In a statement on March 11, 2020, American actor Tom Hanks confirmed that he and his wife Rita Wilson were tested positive for coronavirus.

“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too,” said the actor.

“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next?” he added.

The filmmaker further explained that they will further be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.

British Health Minister Affected

British Health Minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has been diagnosed with Coronavirus positive on March 11, 2020.

The Minister has remained self-isolated at her home and Labor MP has been asked to do the same as she met Dorries.

Dorries showed the Coronavirus symptoms the same day she attended an event hosted by the British PM.

She became the first legislator to catch the Coronavirus and is surprisingly the one who helped in crafting the draft policy against the pandemic.

NBA Suspends Season After Player Tests Positive

The National Basketball Association (NBA) of North America has reportedly suspended its season of the league after a player was tested corona positive.

NBA said this on March 11, 2020 after the scheduled match between Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder has been cancelled.

“We wish this player a full and speedy recovery and appreciate the work of health officials in Oklahoma to test a member of the Utah Jazz for COVID-19, as well as their prudent decision to test the entire team at this time,” read a statement.

Adam Sandler Cancels his Public Show

Owing to the rapid spread of coronavirus, America’s renowned stand-up comedian Adam Sandler cancelled his public appearances.

He has reportedly postponed his upcoming stand-up comedy tour.

“We’ve been looking forward to this upcoming tour for a long time but after a lot of thought we have decided to postpone the March dates,” Sandler said about his tour titled Adam Sandler 100% Fresher Tour 2020.

Queen Elizabeth ‘No’ to Handshake

British Queen Elizabeth is reportedly avoiding handshakes at all official events owing to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Queen was found to have refrained from greeting with handshake during a recent meet at the Buckingham Palace.

She did not do so even at the meet on the lines of Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Uncommonly, she was found wearing gloves during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Prince Williams, in a statement about the coronavirus, said, “I bet everyone’s like, ‘I’ve got coronavirus, I’m dying,’ and you’re like, ‘No, you’ve just got a cough. It does seem quite dramatic about coronavirus at the moment.”

Prince Charles Prefers ‘Namaste’

Prince Charles avoided handshake and preferred ‘Namaste’ in the Prince’s Trust and TK Maxx & Homesense Awards held at the London Palladium on March 11, 2020.  He was seen greeting the Sir Kenneth Olisa, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London with ‘Namaste’.

Upon his entry at the event, Charles moved on to shake hand as a habit and immediately became cautious of corona and preferred ‘Indian-style’ of greeting.

Belgian Royal Family Cancels Italy Visit

On account of the COVID outbreak, the Belgian Royal couple King Phillippe and his wife Queen Mathilde have cancelled their scheduled visit to Italy.

“The current phase in the corona epidemic and the implementation of new emergency measures by the Italian authorities do not make it possible to implement the visit’s program,” reads a statement.

Swedish Royal Family Cancels Grand Reception

Worried at the COVID-19 infection, the Swedish Royal Family has cancelled a grand reception of 150 high-level guests that was due on March 11, 2020.

““In recent days, a number of cases of infection from the new coronavirus have been discovered in Sweden. In anticipation of the continued development of events, Their Majesties, as hosts, choose to postpone the planned representation dinner at the royal palace. This is done with regard to invited guests,” the Swedish Royal Court said in a statement.

Norwegian Family Drops Festival Visit

The Royal Family of Norway has dropped their plans to visit the Holmenkollen Ski Festival, scheduled this weekend.

“Unfortunately, the Royal Family finds reason to cancel their presence at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival. This is in line with the decision made by the authorities to cancel the public event,” reads a statement from the Royal Family.

Dutch Royal Family Cancels Australia Visit

Owing to corona fears, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly taken a back step from their scheduled visit to Australia.

The Royal couple reportedly had plans of meeting the communities hit by the Australian bushfires.

Royal wedding of the Princess Beatrice of York with an Italian has reportedly taken a hit over corona outbreak fears.

“The coronavirus has thrown a bit of a [wrench] in the works,” reads a statement.

While the wedding has been set for May 29, 2020, fears are around that the country will soon announce a lock-down. If that happens, the wedding event will take a hit as the royal family worries.

First-ever Break To Annual Rose Ball Event

Monaco Royal Family Rose Ball Event

Amid the coronavirus fears, the Monaco Royal Family has announced the cancellation of the annual Rose Ball glamor event.

This is happening for the first time in the history of the event since 1954.

“Due to the stricter precautionary measures related to COVID-19, we are forced to postpone this event. We will schedule a new date depending on how the situation develops,” read a statement.

Held at the Salle des Etoiles of Monte-Carlo Sporting, this is a fund-raising event for the Princess Grace Foundation as a humanitarian support for people and children in need.

Princess Caroline of Hanover, Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Charlene of Monaco organise this event.
