As the #Coronavirus is started spreading fast globally, the respective governments have issued health directives to their public.
While most countries suggested basic hygiene niceties like washing hands, covering mouth while cough, etc., the Indian Government has taken a different approach for its citizens.
“The Research Councils under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India have issued advisory based on the Indian traditional medicine practices: Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani,” the Indian Government said in a PIB release.
Under the Ayurveda practices for #PreventingCoronavirus, the Indian Government recommends:
- Shadang Paniya (Musta, Parpat, Usheer, Chandan,Udeechya & Nagar) processed water (10 gm powder boiled in 1-liter water, until it reduces to half), which can also be stored in a bottle #AyurdevaCoronavirus
- Prophylactic Measures/Immunomodulatory drugs:
- Arsenicum album30 1 dose daily in empty stomach for 3 days; should be repeated after one month by following the same schedule in case the infection prevails
- Agastya Harityaki 5 gm – Twice a day with warm water
- Samshamani Vati 500 mg – Twice a day
- Trikatu(Pippali, Marich & Shunthi) powder 5 gm and Tulasi 3-5 leaves (boiled in 1-litre water, until it reduces to half liter and keep in a bottle); recommended in sips as and when required
- Pratimarsa Nasya: Two drops of Anu taila/Sesame oil in each nostril daily in the morning
Under Unani Medicine for symptomatic management of Corona Virus infection:
- SharbatUnnab – 10-20ml twice a day #UnaniCoronavirus
- TiryaqArba – 3-5g twice a day
- TiryaqNazla – 5g twice a day
- KhamiraMarwareed – 3-5g once a day
- Massage on scalp and chest with RoghanBaboona/ Roghan Mom/ Kafoori Balm
- Apply RoghanBanafsha gently in the nostrils
- ArqAjeeb – 4-8 drops in fresh water and 4 times a day
- Habb e IkseerBukhar – 2 pills with lukewarm water twice daily, in case of fever
- SharbatNazla – 10 ml mixed in 100 ml of lukewarm water, twice daily
- Qurs e Suaal 2 tablets to be chewed twice daily
Besides, the government recommends basic precautions such as using N95 mask to avoid droplet transmission, healthy diet and lifestyle practices, among other measures to boost immunity.
