India to Witness Two Eclipses, Out of Four in 2021!

Eclipses

The year 2021 is set to leave stargazers enthralled with four eclipses, including one total solar eclipse and one total lunar eclipse.

Among the four, two eclipses will be visible from India, according to Ujjain-based Jiwaji Observatory’s Superintendent Dr. Rajendraprakash Gupt.

According to Gupta, the total lunar eclipse on May 26 will be visible in parts of West Bengal, coastal Odisha, and in the north-eastern states, except Sikkim.

“The earth will cover the moon by 101.6 percent during this astronomical event,” Dr. Rajendraprakash Gupt said.

Meanwhile, the partial lunar eclipse on November 19 will be visible in Arunachal Pradesh and some parts of Assam for a brief period. During this event, 97.9% of the moon will be shadowed by the earth.

However, the solar eclipse on June 10 and December 4 will not be visible from India, said Mr. Gupta.

In the year 2020, there were four lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses.
