With the number of COVID-19 positive cases every day, the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers of all states are heading for another high-level meet.

The meeting has been scheduled for April 27, 2020.

So far, the number of Covid-19 positive cases in India have reached 27,980 and the death toll has crossed the 800 mark.

In a video conference today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss with the state ministries and health secretaries on further measures to fight the deadly virus.

The PM is also likely to discuss on plans for graded lockdown post the current phase that is due to end on May 03, 2020.

The State Departments are likely to raise the issue of migrant workers with focus on interstate transit of migrants.

India Prime Minister and Chief Ministers

While Maharashtra is leading with the highest number of positive cases, Mumbai alone accounted for 358 out of 440 new cases in the state, adding to the state’s overall tally of 8,000.

Meanwhile, Delhi, 2nd in the country for highest cases, has also seen a 11 percent rise in numbers over yesterday, to 2,918. With this, Delhi has registered the second biggest single day rise till date.

Gujarat reported the third biggest single-day rise of 230 to 3,301.

Overall, a total of 1,396 cases and 48 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, says the Health Ministry.

Covid Cases

Globally, the number of positive cases has reached 2,994,436 with more than 2 lakh death cases.
