Exactly a day after the demise of versatile actor Irrfan Khan, here is another shocking news for Indian film industry, especially Bollywood.

In an unexpected update, the veteran hero ‘known for his romantic roles’ Rishi Kapoor has passed away at 67.

What Actually Happened?

Kapoor was diagnosed with Cancer in 2018, post which he moved to New York for a long-term treatment. He returned to India in September 2019.

Rishi was taken to the hospital on April 29, 2020 after he started suffering from breathing problem.

A day later, he left this world after a two-year-long intense battle with leukemia.

“The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him.

“He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears,” Kapoor’s family said in a statement.

Rishi belongs to the Kapoor family, which has been one crucial part of Bollywood’s success journey for decades.

Rishi made his debut as a child artist in 1970 in his father Raj Kapoor’s all-time classic Mera Naam Joker.

After that, Rishi never turned back and has delivered many box-office blockbusters like Khel Khel Mein, Karz and Chandni.

Rishi is also known for skillful dancing and energetic performance on screen.

After delivering classic romantic love stories, Rishi married Neetu in 1980.

In his lifetime, Rishi has done remarkable multi-starrers with Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor.

“He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !” tweeted Amitabh upon Rishi’s passing away.

Rishi lastly tweeted condemning the attacks on doctors treating coronavirus and urged the public saying, “we have to win this war together.”

Now, he left the fight leaving his fans in deep sorrow!
