These will be the seventh and eighth such discussions between PM and state CMs in the COVID-19 crisis.

Meanwhile, the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari hints that lockdown cannot be the further solution in saying, “I accept that there are problems (amid coronavirus) – related with banks, with demand and supply, with liquidity. The most important problem in the present economic situation is liquidity. We need to increase liquidity in the market. Without that, we can’t accelerate the wheel of our economy.”

In another update, the US stood by its promise of handing over the first tranche of 100 ventilator kits to India as part of the cooperation agreed upon.

A new US study said a specific mutation in the Coronavirus could significantly boost the virus’s ability to cause cell infection.
