The death toll from the communal violence in northeast Delhi has increased to 39 as of February 28, 2020.

This has happened despite the presence of 7,000 central paramilitary forces, 3 special CPs, 6 joint CPs, 22 DCPs, 20 ACPs, 60 Inspectors, 1200 other rank officers and 200 lady police for continuous supervision.

This level of security has been on in the capital city since February 24, 2020.

Meanwhile, the security has also been tightened along the Delhi-Ghaziabad border.

As the clashes intensified, the Delhi High Court is closely listening to hate speeches by the leaders of various parties.

After the sudden transfer of the Delhi High Court Judge on February 26, 2020, Amulya Patnaik has also been replaced with the new incumbent SN Shrivastava as the Delhi Police Commissioner.

“No rioter, whichever party they belong to, should be spared. And if those involved in riots are found to be from the AAP, double punishment should be given,” said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, AAP Councillor Tahir Hussain has been booked on charges of involvement in IB officer’s murder Ankit Sharma during the clashes.
