IndianEra > Coronavirus > Covid-19: ‘No’ Mandatory Testing For All Daycare Admissions

Finally, the Health Ministry has responded over irregularities related to the COVID-19 testing in hospitals.

There have been instances where hospitals were found to be doing COVID-19 testing for all patients coming for daycare admission for dialysis and chemotherapy.

Responding to this, the Health Ministry said there are no such guidelines that recommend testing for all such patients.

The Ministry termed it as ‘wrong-doing’ if the hospitals were doing such activity.

To the point that there is confusion over guidelines, the Ministry said the guidelines are very clear and well defined, and are being redefined as per the changing needs.

However, no such guideline to test every patient coming for daycare admissions is issued till date.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

Even the ICMR guidelines prescribe testing only for symptomatic patients and asymptomatic will need testing if they have come in contact with the lab-confirmed case.

Meanwhile, the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCC) is working on assessment of factors to find if the virus is a natural occurrence or an act of bio-warfare or a vaccine experiment.

“We are examining all aspects of the virus in light of disturbing reports and allegations of lab origin. There is no credible evidence yet, however, to prove that it is not of lab origin,” says an official.

As part of this process, the security department is investigating and all international studies and reports on the lab origin of the Coronavirus.
