Coronavirus outbreak at the community-level is now the serious challenge the Government of India is facing.
The issue has escalated to the next level post the Jamaat incident.
To the latest, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has crossed 4,000 mark with 700 infections in the last 24 hours alone.
Maharashtra is the worst affected state with 690 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu (571) and Delhi (503), respectively.
According to the Health Ministry, the country saw 472 fresh cases on April 05, 2020 alone.
As the health experts say, the COVID-19 transmission rate in India is doubling at the rate of 4.7 days, which according to them would have been 7.4 if Jamaat incident had not happened.
Now, the government’s focus is currently on tracing the people who attended the Jamaat meet, further moved to different parts of the country and their connections.

Global COVID-19 Cases
The global COVID-19 positive cases stand at around 1.27 million with the death toll touching 70,000 mark.
US continues to be the worst affected with more than 3 lakh cases, followed by Spain (1.31 lakh), Italy (1.28 lakh), among others.
Italy continues to be the top in terms of deaths with more than 15,000 deaths, followed by Spain (10,000) and US (10,000).
