Delhi riots over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is one most happening thing that the world is continuously watching in India.
While a few governments have expressed their opinions, the Indian Government made it very clear to them that it’s purely an ‘internal matter’.
Now, Iran has received a similar response from the Indian Government.
India summoned the Iranian ambassador to India Ali Chengeni to raise an objection to the Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif’s comments on Delhi riots.
“A strong protest was lodged at the comments made by foreign minister Zarif on matters internal to India,” say the sources.
In a message to Chengeni, the government has reportedly mentioned Zarif’s statements as “totally uncalled for and unacceptable”.
In response to Delhi riots against #CAA, Zarif tweeted, “Iran condemns the wave of organized violence against Indian Muslims.”
Iran condemns the wave of organized violence against Indian Muslims.
For centuries, Iran has been a friend of India. We urge Indian authorities to ensure the wellbeing of ALL Indians & not let senseless thuggery prevail.
Path forward lies in peaceful dialogue and rule of law.

Iran’s comments come as a surprise to India as the former rarely criticizes on internal matters of India.
